Scratch and sniff stickers

Do you remember the ‘scratch and sniff’-stickers?

I used to love these as a kid. My sister used to have a whole range of them, and even though they were ‘forbidden property’ for the little sister, I did have a sniff every now and then anyway;)

I had forgotten that they even existed, until I came across a section on scented inks in the book ‘Materials, Process, Print. Creative solutions for graphic design.’ by Daniel Mason. I ended up ordering a children’s ‘scratch and sniff’-book from Amazon, and it arrived in the post last week. Even though the book in itself isn´t really what I had expected, I still like the little scratch and sniff stickers in it. Chocolate ship cookie, peach and strawberry jam are my favourite scents in there. So now I go over to the bookshelf and have a little sniff every now and then…and it makes me smile!

Latin-American Music

Ever since I was a little girl I have had a thing for Latin-American music. (Not only the music by the way…I also really like the food and the dancing.) I never knew much about the music though… I still don´t.

However, about two and a half years ago I met a wonderful guy that eventually became my boyfriend. He is Latin-American, and therefore well acquainted with the music from this part of the world. On one of our first dates, he played Latin-American music to me… and I was sold. One of the musicians he “introduced me to” was Juan Luis Guerra. Guerra is from the Dominican Republic, and most of his music is in the “merengue”-category. The music always makes me sing along (and I don´t even speak Spanish!). I guess there is something about the melody and the rhythms that I find extraordinarily appealing. Playing one of his songs can, for me, change a grey mood/feeling into hot pink!

I love feathers!

I love feathers!

Maybe not so much on a headpiece (like a hat) or on a jacket, but definitely on a pair of high heels. I just bought a pair of stilhettoes from AWear (www.awear.com): “Julianne Feather Detailed shoes”. It might be a challenge to walk on heels of this calibre, but with some practice anyone can (I am practicing)! They are great with a dress in a neutral colour, or even with tights and a tunic.

I also love my feather earrings that my lovely boyfriend gave me for Christmas;)

'Disposable' tea/coffee cup

I love my 'disposable' tea/coffee cup. My boyfriend bought this one for me when we were in Amsterdam last autumn, but you can get them practically anywhere. It is a porcelain mug with silicone lid and silicone holder (to protect your hand against the heath). It fits 300-400 ml of fluid, which is quite a lot of tea or coffee. If it´s too much to drink right away, don´t worry, it keeps the drink hot for quite a while as long as you keep the lid on!
